Talk about a busy weekend...and it's not even over yet!!! Here's a play by play. It all started when we decided we would try to do some landscaping this weekend. So, Friday night after work Luke met Beau and I at The Family Tree nursery to get some ideas. They ended up drawing us up a really nice plan of what plants to plant and where to put them. We decided to do it, and woke up early on Saturday morning to tear out sod, and clear away some of our existing rock. Then we headed into Rochester to search for pavers to do the edging. We found some we liked, so 1000 lbs later it was loaded into the back of the Jeep...(and this was all before noon)! On the way home we had a slight setback, while slightly exceeding the speed limit. Eventually we made it home and unloaded all of those bricks. Beau took a nice long nap while Luke and I finished tearing out the sod. By 4pm it was time to get cleaned up to head over to Cody and Melissa's for a grill out with some friends. Here's Beau making sure the cooler is all packed and ready to go.
We got home way past Beau's bedtime, but he was still just a smiling away. We woke up early again this morning to start laying down some of the pavers. Here is what we have done so far:
We had to quit around 11 today to head to Lime Springs for Kalley's graduation party. Before the party we made a detour and stopped at the Gibbs' to drop off Ana's long overdue birthday presents. She and Beau had a great time playing with the bubble wand that blew ENORMOUS bubbles! Then we headed out to the graduation party. We left around 4:30 with the intentions of getting Beau home and to bed early. However, our little neighbor girl Maddie met us in the garage as we pulled in and informed us that our street was having a neighborhood grill out, at 6. I looked at the clock and saw that that gave us 20 minutes. I decided there was nothing I could whip up in 20 min so Luke ran to the gas station to get a bag of chips...hopefully they won't hold it against us. The kids all had a great time. There was even a blow up jumping castle that they all jumped around in.
Beau loved it! Even when we took him out so the bigger kids could be a little more rambunctious, he loved looking in from the outside. Here's a picture of the whole neighborhood clan:
We got Beau home about 7:30 for a bath, and straight to bed. He is sleeping soundly. So like I said, it has been an eventful weekend, we still have a lot of work to do with the landscaping, and the rock and flowers are being delivered at 10am so it is a good thing we have another day!
Also, I know I haven't blogged in awhile, so for all of you faithful blog checkers, here are a few more pictures to get you up to speed.

Beau practiced eating ice cream with a spoon. He couldn't get it all, so he had to lick the bowl to make sure he got every last drop!
Lindsey, are you there? We miss you!
