Socks

On daycare mornings generally I get Beau dressed after he eats and then tell him to go pick out his socks. He usually walks over to the sock chest, waits for me to open the drawer (it's really old and has NUMEROUS coats of paint on it, so the drawer tends to stick) and then he picks out his socks. This morning it was the same thing... I told him to go get some socks and he stands up. But then instead of just walking over there he drops to his knees and "walks" over there standing on his knees. I was very confused, chuckled and asked him what he was doing as I got up and walked across the room. It wasn't until then that I noticed what I was doing. I was walking across the room on my knees! I took a second and realized that I do this every morning. I don't stand up and walk across the room, I just walk over on my knees. But what I thought was especially funny was that he wasn't copying what I was doing today. When he got up I was still sitting gathering up his PJ's. He was copying what he had apparently been watching me do every morning. Crazy the things he picks up on! Needless to say I laughed VERY hard and gave him a great big hug. He looked at me like I was nuts and and we went back to picking out socks.

Tonight Beau helped me make a Christmas Countdown tree to hang on our fridge. Each day Beau gets to put a numbered ball ornament on. By Christmas day it will be fully decorated with a star on top! Beau enjoyed running around the real Christmas tree again tonight, it seems to be his favorite activity since we put it up. He tries really hard not to touch the ornaments and take them off the tree, once in awhile he just can't help it, but he really does pretty good.

  1. Here is another fun Christmas tradition I just learned about for kids... the elf on a shelf! So cute! He visits during December and reports back on behavior to Santa. :) http://www.elfontheshelf.com/#/gift-shop
