Merry December!

I couldn't be more excited about the arrival of December (obviously the best month of the year!;).  Our halls are decked, the elf has arrived, TV Christmas specials are playing, and little eyes are sparkling with excitement.   The arrival of December also marks the beginning of this year's December Daily project.  This will be my 8th year creating an album that documents our December with one story per day for 25 days.

The albums only come out in December and we spent Monday evening going through past years.  Although my photography skills are sub-par, and the writing may not be particularly profound, looking through these albums is pure magic.  Seeing our family grow and traditions evolve over the years is worth every minute of time these albums take.  I try to work on the project each day throughout December.  I find that it helps me to be present in the season, and gives me a perspective of gratitude in a month that can so easily become stressful and overwhelming.  I begin each album with some form of intention for the season.  Here are my 2015 intentions:

My intention this December is to embrace everything this wonderful, joy filled season has to give.
Embrace quiet nights at home watching Christmas movies.
Embrace magic.
Embrace hectic schedules and being present one moment at a time.
Embrace peace and calm and an attitude of enough.
Embrace holiday sparkle and twinkling lights.
Embrace slowing down and letting little people take their time.
Embrace helping hands and imperfection.
Embrace giving and gratitude.
Embrace making Faith our focus.
My intention this December is to embrace Christmas with contagious JOY.

I'll attempt to keep you updated on my progress as I add to the album!
