The MIGHTY Howard County Fair

We stopped at the fair in Cresco yesterday afternoon. It was Beau's first time having a wristband and it was definitely worth it for him this year. He loved the rides and couldn't get enough of them....there was NO stopping for a break! He rode the Go Gator coaster, horses, cars, motorcycles, Dizzy Dragons, Fun House, Ferris Wheel, and Bumper Cars (all multiple times). I think his favorite was the motorcycles though. Ana came up and went on some rides with him too (which he loved). Grandma and Grandpa Daskam came up too. Poor Cora was SO tired from our busy weekend (late nights and no naps). She really just wanted to follow her brother wherever he went...maybe next year babe :) Beau and Daddy on the bumper cars. Poor baby girl trying to climb the fence after her brother. Daddy and Beau on the Ferris wheel....I think he was too short to realize just how high we were! Beau and Grandpa heading for the Bumper Cars "Hey Beau...show me your muscles so you quit honking that O...

Pontoon Ride

We went over to the river for a pontoon ride this afternoon...Cora's first. Both kids loved it. Cora really liked being up so she could watch the water even though her life jacket practically strangled her! They both helped Grandpa drive the boat and we stopped to do some fishing before heading in. Beau looks a little different from the last time we were out on the pontoon. See for yourself here and here .... he was just shy of a year, although I think he was bigger than Cora is now at 17 months! Despite her best efforts Cora finally gave in and took a quick cat nap.

More Parade Pics

Here we are eating our very nutritious supper on food row. Cora got a sucker handed to her and loved it! And here she is keeping track of the parade line up for us.

Rochester Fest 2011

We ate and watched the parade at Rochester fest last night. Gyros, corndogs, mini donuts and ice cream were the foods of choice...ugh no wonder I have a food hangover today! Here's Beau with his blue goo ice cream choice. Both kids were big fans of the LONG parade(it started at 6:15 and we left just before it ended and that was shortly after 9!). We sat towards the end so candy was pretty light but Beau still managed to go after a few. There was a nice little girl sitting by us that kept giving him candy too...i dont know how he does it but there always seems to be at least one generous soul sitting near us to give him candy at every parade we go to. She gave Cora a couple pieces too and Cora ran right over and put them in the bag. Today we're off to Lansing to take a pontoon ride! Have a good weekend!
We can pretend there's sunshine!

T-Ball

Last night was Beau's first "real" night of t-ball. We had a meet the team and practice last week, but tonight was his first game. It went pretty well. They started with pictures and then a practice followed by the game. When he was practicing he kept yelling across the field "I almost caught it Mom!" His biggest challenge is definitely paying attention and staying focused. He pretty well when it is time to hit and even run, but once he's in the field he enters la-la land. He stuck it out though and no sitting in the field :)
