Potty pals.... Cora has slowed in her potty progress. Tonight she stood up to pee on the floor in front of the potty.

Bedtime Funnies

Beau: "Mom, why is Cora crying?" Me: "because i didn't give her her pacifier" Beau: "you gave her a bath of fire?!" 5 min of hysterical laughter...from me because he's funny, and from him because I'm laughing and he doesn't know why. Beau: "all that laughing gave me the burps!" AKA...he had the hiccups.
We need friends to keep us cool today
Superhero morning
This is from yesterday's Target run...we can't make it out of the store without checking out the action figure aisle anymore. So far we haven't had any whining about the fact that nothing is allowed in the cart. So as long as that's the case I'm good with a little detour :)
CAUTION: This post contains much talk of bodily fluids :) Beau had another great day at swimming lessons yesterday. It was pretty chilly and rainy, but he didn't seem to mind. He was under the water as much as he was above it. Dunking his head is his new favorite thing to to. He even opens his eyes under water because shortly after he got in he shouts over to me "Mom, I can see everyone's feet!!" They played "treasure hunting" and had to pick up dive sticks. He loved it, but he is definitely one of the shortest kids in his class and can barely even touch where they do lessons. He tried and tried to get those dive sticks and would be swimming under the water for quite awhile. Eventually he went over and got some in the slightly shallower water and left the deep ones for the kids who could just bend over and pick them up. In other news...Cora went pee on the potty last night!!! I was cleaning out under our stairs yesterday to try and find our little frog pot...

Just Keep Swimming...

Beau had his first swimming lessons today. He did SO well!! I was amazed watching him. I made sure to sit way back where it would be hard for him to see me. I knew if I didn't there would be a lot of "hey mom watch this" "mom look at me" etc....fine for me but not so great for his teacher!! He got right in and did everything the teacher asked. His face went in the water right away. He even put his whole head WAY under water. I was a little nervous because I thought if he got upset that would be it for today if not the whole swimming lesson experience. But he came up laughing and did it again and again. The only complaint he had was that they didn't get to swim very long. I think we're going to head back after nap for a little more swimming and then on to t-ball tonight.

One More

This one is just so Beau....

Backyard Splash Party

The only thing on our agenda today was church this morning (where Cora decided the dress she had on was NOT acceptable and proceeded to take it off herself...I'm sure the people behind us were much more amused than I was). Since we had an event free day at home we dug out the slip-n-slide and kiddie pool to cool off in this afternoon. Beau starts his first day of swimming lessons tomorrow so he did a little practicing with putting his face in the water (and got some use out of his new Superman goggles). Cora tried out the slip-n-slide too She didn't like it We ended the day with some ball practice for tomorrow's t-ball game. He looks like a natural doesn't he?? :) I hope you all had a good weekend....Monday here we come!!

Caution...this post contains extreme dorkiness :)

New goggles...need I say more.....??

The 4th

I hope everyone had a good 4th of July. We stayed around home and had a pretty mellow weekend. On Sunday night we headed down to Spring Valley to watch their fireworks. The kids loved them. Cora stared in amazement through the whole show, although she wanted to make sure she stuck pretty close to us. For Beau it was the louder the better! The 4th's festivities didn't go quite as smoothly. We had planned to go to the parade in Stewartville and then stay for the fireworks. But....that's not quite the way it worked out. We went to the parade, but weren't there long enough to actually see it. Beau started whining and complaining as soon as we got there, and while waiting for the parade to start is escalated to a constant "I want to go HOME!" After repeat attempts at distraction and pacification (is that a word) we decided to cut our losses and grant his wish. As soon as we packed up the chairs and he realized we actually were going home as requested a full scale t...
