No Picture

Well much to everyone's disappointment, there is no picture with today's post. This is to represent the fact that I FORGOT TO TAKE A PICTURE YESTERDAY!! I'm totally bummed about this...since it means I failed at my 365 day challenge. But...I'm not giving up...just tweaking the challenge a bit. I have decided I get 3 strikes (yesterday being one of them). After three strikes I'm out...which doesn't mean I get to quit...it just means I have to start over from that day foreword with 365 more days. Ok...there...I said it out loud, now you all are responsible for holding me to it! In other news...we got a WHOPPING blizzard yesterday. And it really was a blizzard, the weatherman said so (apparently there are special criteria to meet)! I left the office to pick up Beau and work from home at about 11 AM. I couldn't see a thing the whole way...it was actually really scary! Here is something to put it in perspective...I couldn't see where to stop to turn...

Happy Birthday

We had a busy weekend! On Saturday Beau, Megan, and I went shopping in Rochester. I tried to capture the look of disgust on Beau's face after we got into the store, but as soon as the camera came out our little ham was all smiles. Oh well, I guess I'll always take a smile (even if the look of disgust was just as cute). On Sunday we stopped at Grandma and Grandpa Johnson's and got to see Ana too! Then we headed to Cresco to celebrate Grandpa Daskam's birthday. Mom spoiled us once again with way too much good food! Prime rib, salad, cheesy taters, awesome green beans, and of course birthday cake and ice cream.

Random Update

Holy buckets it's cold out today!! The jeep said -18 on the way to Buffie's! Hopefully it has warmed up since then...I'm looking foreward to the warmer weather they are promising this weekend. I haven't posted in awhile, so I figured I was due. Last night we reintroduced Beau to his blocks he got for Christmas, and he showed much more interest. We also tried cereal again...not much luck, we even let him take control and do it himself. He didn't like it any better when he put the spoon in his own mouth...we still got a look of disgust. I was hopefull because the other night he was really interesed in getting my spoon into his mouth (I just happened to be eating ice cream). So we saw the opportunity and got the cereal ready. He ate 3 whole bites!!! Although that may be because I "accidedently" let his spoon slip into my ice cream first. Once he figured out what he was really getting on the spoon he wanted nothing to do with it. Oh well, never give up I gues...

Warm Wishes

Sending Grandpa WARM wishes after such a cold day! We ventured out to Target, Lowes, and Old Navy. Beau got to stay in the car the majority of the time. The -12 degree day didn't seem to phase him, he was sweating when I got him out of his car seat.

Sunday Stuff

This is a picture of us all right before bedtime, wishing we had at least one more day to the weekend. We were busy little bees yesterday. We started the morning by SLOWLY getting ready for church. After church, we made a family trip to the grocery store...AKA Target. Then we continued to work on the basement project. Getting everything cleaned up and out so we can start construction. We did pretty well, but still have a fair amount left to do. This means all the scrapbooking stuff has to be reorganized and moved upstairs to our bedroom closet...this is not an easy task! So unfortunately it did not get done. Oh well, there is always another day. This is Beau waiting for his turn to get ready for church. There seems to be some resemblance to Kiss...maybe we have a little rockstar on our hands! Cleaning out the basement meant more laundry basket rides for Beau. He gave it a two thumbs up!

Shadow Friend

I took this picture last Thursday when Luke was out of town for work. I was picking up the bathroom and Beau was rolling around in the hall outside the bathroom door. I noticed he was really concentrating on something so I peeked over to see what he was doing. The thing he was concentrating so hard on was his shadow! It was funny to see the confused look on his face as it moved every time he did. It was so cute I snuck out the other bathroom door (so he wouldn't notice) to get my camera and snapped the pic.

Bedtime Story

Last night Luke had a basketball game, so it was just me and Beau for bedtime. He decided that he would read the story tonight instead of being read to.

One Trip

Beau was helping me do laundry over the weekend. He was perfectly content to watch me take clothes from the washer, shake them out, and put them in the dryer. When I was finished I had a basket full of clean clothes to take upstairs. Briefly I contemplated if it was possible to get a basket of laundry and a baby upstairs all in one trip. I decided it was worth a shot. So I picked up Beau, plopped him in the laundry basket on top of the clothes and away we went. He gave me a funny look and then tried to figure out what he was sitting on top of. But by the time we were to the stairs he decided this was kind of fun, and was in no hurry to get out when we reached our destination.

Lets Get Started!

On Sunday Luke went and bought some wood to get started on our basement...YEAH!!! He got a bunch of new tools for Christmas, so now we have no excuses. This also means that we have to go through the pile of boxes that are still not unpacked from when we moved, and figure out what to do with everything. Oh well, I guess that is a good New Year project anyway. We got started on it last night. It felt really good to be getting rid of some things. Hopefully I will be able to start posting pictures of a basement in progress soon!

365 Day Challenge

We got our new camera in the mail yesterday!!!! It's a Canon Rebel XTi. Love it!! Because I want to make myself learn all the cool features of this camera I am taking part in a 365 day challenge. All I have to do is take a picture every single day...simple huh? We'll see, but my new camera should make it a whole lot more fun! Plus, what an awesome way to document 2008...it's like a visual journal. I posted a link to the left so you can see the pictures as I take them.
I added a Flickr set to the left to show my scrapbook layouts. Right now it is limited to my Aruba album, but there will be more to come. They rotate in the set, or you can click on them to see more detail. Happy Thursday!
