HO HO HO!

Well we can't say we didn't try... Beau liked Santa from afar but as we moved up in line to see him he kept backing further and further up between Luke's legs. When it was his turn Luke tried to put him on Santa's lap, but as you can see that didn't go over too well! Oh well, there's always next year.

Recap of our Weekend

Alright, so I need to get back on the ball with the blog posting! Here's some pictures from the weekend. We were staying over in Austin for the annual Roske/Brown Christmas. There are 4 little kiddos all born within a few weeks of Beau. It was so much fun to see them all interact and play together, they definitely kept us on our toes a little more this year! Click here to see how much they've grown since last year. Ana was our little mother hen this year, she LOVES "Baby Beau". She is such a sweetie, wherever Beau is that is where she wants to be too. Beau loved it, someone to chase around and play with that has as much energy as he does!! On Monday Beau was my little helper, I took work off to catch up on some weekly items like getting groceries. It was sooo cold! I had him all covered up and then covered with a blanket. It looked like I was trying to shield him from paparazzi...he did not appreciate it. He kept trying to take the blanket off his head, but his mit...

Baking Cookies and Other Holiday Goodies

Beau and I spent Sunday baking up a storm. We made Christmas cut out cookies. He thought it was pretty cool that we got to throw flour all over the table, and helped me push down the cookie cutters. He even put some of the cut out shapes on the cookie sheet for me. They ended up a little deformed but that's ok! I did most of the cookie frosting while he napped but I did save a few for when he got up to "help" with. he put the red hot buttons on the snowmen and then sprinkled them generously with green sprinkles. He did really well, and by that I mean no major tantrums because I wouldn't let him eat everything in sight. He did sneak a red hot by me, but by the look on his face I don't think he will do that again. After getting a chuckle out of his expression I helped him get it out of his mouth and he appeared to be grateful. And....the TASTE test:

Chipmunk Song

Just a quick note to say I am so thankful to Ellen for making me a Christmas CD last year that includes the Chipmunk song. Beau loves it, and on those days (like this morning) that he really does not want to be squished and crammed into his car seat that song always brings a smile (and quiet). This morning each time the song ended I got a little whine from the backseat and the "more" sign. So we listened to it over and over the entire way to town. Still no biggie, I'll take smiles with the Chipmunk song over screaming and trying to fight his way out of the car seat any day!! More to come....

Bananas!!

Beau actually ate all of his supper tonight. As you can see bananas aren't one of the foods we have trouble getting him to eat!! He's loved them ever since he started eating baby food. Actually it was the first baby food we were actually able to get him to keep in his mouth! I spent the evening working on my December Daily album. If you're interested you can find out more about it here . Kind of a fun little project to document your December, and the Christmas season.

On The Couch

Today was a snowy day...well the morning anyway. Lots of big fluffy flakes when we left for work and daycare this morning. I love how Beau's eyes light up when he sees the sky full of snowflakes . When we got home tonight Beau decided everything needed to go on the couch. He wanted to play with the laundry basket...on the couch, wanted to sit in his chair...on the couch, wanted to play with his blocks...on the couch. And that is what he did, wagon and all. P.S. My sister Megan and I have been brainstorming baby boy names for her little munchkin due to arrive in April. So if anyone has any ideas leave it for us in the comments!!

What Food Group Is Ketchup In?

Is it a bad thing if I put a plate of delicious chicken, cheesy potato's and mixed veggies in front of my child for supper and all he eats is the ketchup? Literally licked the ketchup clean. He did touch the chicken, but only to dip it in the ketchup and then lick the ketchup off. Rudolph was on tonight!!! Did everyone watch it?? We watched bits and pieces as Beau pointed out Rudolph's nose.

Socks

On daycare mornings generally I get Beau dressed after he eats and then tell him to go pick out his socks. He usually walks over to the sock chest, waits for me to open the drawer (it's really old and has NUMEROUS coats of paint on it, so the drawer tends to stick) and then he picks out his socks. This morning it was the same thing... I told him to go get some socks and he stands up. But then instead of just walking over there he drops to his knees and "walks" over there standing on his knees. I was very confused, chuckled and asked him what he was doing as I got up and walked across the room. It wasn't until then that I noticed what I was doing. I was walking across the room on my knees! I took a second and realized that I do this every morning. I don't stand up and walk across the room, I just walk over on my knees. But what I thought was especially funny was that he wasn't copying what I was doing today. When he got up I was still sitting gathering up his P...

Happy December!

Can you believe it is December 1st already? Today was bitter sweet for me, on one hand it is officially December and the Christmas season is in full swing, but on the other hand it was Monday and that means back to work and daycare. No fun, especially after the long holiday break. We finished decorating the Christmas tree tonight with some colored balls that I picked up at Hobby Lobby half price...gotta love that! Afterwards we watched Christmas specials on ABC, Shrek the Halls, and my all time favorite The Grinch! You might have noticed the new countdown ticker on the side of the blog, I just want to point out that this countdown is for my nephew, NOT for me. And yes, I said NEPHEW...IT'S A BOY!!!! Megan had an ultrasound today, everything looks good and there should be a new baby boy arriving sometime around April 19th. We can't wait to meet Beau's new little cousin!!
