Weekend Highlights

It's Pajama Time! Jamma, jamma, jamma, jamma P.J.! That's a line from one of the books we read at bedtime, and what I said to Beau last night around 7:30 (our pajama time). He gets up and runs in to the bedroom. I thought "wow, that was easy". I followed him into the room and realized he wasn't waiting to get his pajamas on he was looking for a book....the Pajama Time book. I chuckled when I realized what he was doing and sure enough he found the right book and handed it to me with a big smile. The kid never ceases to amaze me. This weekend was filled with lots of painting. Luke started bright and early on Saturday morning. Beau causes the productivity level to drop significantly so we stayed upstairs and did some painting of our own. He got some finger paints from Santa that we decided to try out. He starts out so innocent. A little messier... And there you have it...nothing innocent here! As you can see, a bath immediately following was an absolute necessity! I...

Hello Monday

Happy Monday everyone, going back to work is such fun isn't it? Beau finally got to try out his sled this weekend, and he loved it. Actually, once he was on he wouldn't get off of it.... not to walk around in the snow, not to play with the neighbor kids that came over, and definitely NOT to go inside! It was pretty cold though, so we had to make it quick, but he loved it all the same. This morning I got his snow pants out of the closet to pack up for another week at daycare and he got all excited. Total bummer when they just went in a Target bag. We (and by "we" I mean Luke due to our uncooperative child and lots of stinky fumes) finished priming the basement and painting the ceilings this weekend, so now we're ready for paint. Thank goodness...putting actual colors on the walls instead of white primer gets me a little more excited about picking up a paint brush. (Now if only I could decide on the colors!) As many of you know my son has boycotted anything even res...

Bananas!!

Beau actually ate all of his supper tonight. As you can see bananas aren't one of the foods we have trouble getting him to eat!! He's loved them ever since he started eating baby food. Actually it was the first baby food we were actually able to get him to keep in his mouth! I spent the evening working on my December Daily album. If you're interested you can find out more about it here . Kind of a fun little project to document your December, and the Christmas season.

On The Couch

Today was a snowy day...well the morning anyway. Lots of big fluffy flakes when we left for work and daycare this morning. I love how Beau's eyes light up when he sees the sky full of snowflakes . When we got home tonight Beau decided everything needed to go on the couch. He wanted to play with the laundry basket...on the couch, wanted to sit in his chair...on the couch, wanted to play with his blocks...on the couch. And that is what he did, wagon and all. P.S. My sister Megan and I have been brainstorming baby boy names for her little munchkin due to arrive in April. So if anyone has any ideas leave it for us in the comments!!

What Food Group Is Ketchup In?

Is it a bad thing if I put a plate of delicious chicken, cheesy potato's and mixed veggies in front of my child for supper and all he eats is the ketchup? Literally licked the ketchup clean. He did touch the chicken, but only to dip it in the ketchup and then lick the ketchup off. Rudolph was on tonight!!! Did everyone watch it?? We watched bits and pieces as Beau pointed out Rudolph's nose.

Snowy Day

Beau's reaction to the Christmas tree was as we expected. He stopped dead in his tracks and goes "OHHHHH!" He loves running around the tree and looking at the ornaments. He points to the ones he knows and names them ("baby" "puppy" and "ball"). For some reason he especially likes the ones that he got from Grandma Daskam with the baby bears on them. He takes them off the tree and kisses them and then tries to put them back on. I wasn't quite quick enough and the picture is blurry, but you get the idea. We got snow last night, and it's still snowing! Now it's starting to look like Christmas! We took Beau out for a few minutes after lunch to check out the snow, he thought it was great!! Except, he kept tripping and falling flat on his belly with all his layers of clothes on. Every once in awhile we'd hear him say "Boom" and sure enough there he was laying there stranded on his tummy again. He didn't seem to mind th...

Puppy Chow

We are going on vacation this weekend, and today Beau and I are getting some things ready to go. First on the list was making some yummy puppy chow! Beau was a big help. This is the first time he has had it, and I think he's a fan. He helped me stir in the butter and chocolate chips, but when I told him he had to stop eating all the chocolate chips this is the reaction I got... Licking the bowl was by far his favorite part. Check out the finished product...lots of yummy puppy chow, and one very messy baby P.S. The computer is plugged in beside me so the outlet cover is sitting here on the table. Beau only gets his paci at bedtime. How are these two random facts related.......... I guess you make due with what whatever you can find!!!! Have a good weekend!

New Look

Don't worry, your in the right spot. I thought the blog could used some "springing" up, so I'm trying out this new look. We all had a busy day today. Luke played in a softball tournament, and Beau and I got lots of errands ran. When we got home we finally got rid of the bare wall in Beau's room. Now it looks like this: Beau has gotten lots of teeth. He has 7 now...4 on top, and 3 on the bottom. He loves to chomp on biter biscuits, however this is the end result: He only gets them on bath nights!!

Weekend Ritual

Just a normal Sunday around here. We made our weekly visit to Target to get the necessities. We were so happy to see the sun, we decided to get Beau's swing hung up in the back yard, and spend some time outside. He wasn't too sure about swinging at first, but after giving him some time to get used to it he was squealing with delight. The ground was dry enough to let him explore a little on the grass. Again, he wasn't too sure, and stuck pretty close to the stroller. Eventually he was ready to be a little more adventurous and he raced Daddy up the hill.

Just Being Beau

I keep telling myself that someday I am going to have to tell this face no...is that going to be possible?? We let Beau hang out in the bathroom sink tonight so he could partake in his favorite pastime (admiring himself). It was the perfect little seat.

Happy Birthday Valentine!

Happy Valentine's Day to everyone, and Happy Birthday to Luke! We were baking fools last night in preperation for this double holiday. Beau gets to have his first Valentine party at daycare today, so we made heart shaped brownies with frosting and sprinkles. I can't wait to see all the cute little Valentines he gets! Luke finished frosting his birthday cake to take to work...(I'm hoping for leftovers, but I won't hold my breath ;). I also made an angel food cake for the birthday boy, and started some beef stew for supper tonight. Like I said baking fools! Mom and Dad are coming up tommorrow to work on the basement (yes I know I still need to post pics...I'll get on that when I'm less busy mastering my culinary skills) so Luke and I both have tommorrow off of work...YEAH!!! And in honor of Valentine's Day here is a list of current loves. I LOVE: ~reaching into my coat pocket for a pair of gloves and pulling out a cute little pair of baby so...
