Our Miss Cora is 5 Months Today

At 5 months you..... Laugh...you've been laughing when we tickle you for awhile, but now you've started laughing when we make silly faces or noises at you Roll over both ways Can't sit by yourself yet, but can balance for a few second before toppling over Scoot around in a circle, but can't get yourself to move forward after something you want Have been trying cereal at night, but are still working on figuring out how to swallow it. Bedtime is anywhere between 7 and 8 depending on whether you took a late afternoon nap or not, you sleep through the night most nights. Grab at anything and everything you can get your hands on (your favorites are the remote and phones though). You are also starting to protest when we take something away or don't give you something you're after! Have started copying noises and facial expressions that we make Still LOVE your big brother and your eyes rarely look away from him when he is in the room (he loves you too and gives you you...

Faster Than Fast, Quicker Than Quick...I Am Speed.....KACHOW!

Beau FINALLY got to try out his new Lightning McQueen slip-n-slide yesterday. He had a blast. There were a few times he tried to run down it and slipped, he got really upset and I would say "should we turn the water off and go inside?" to which he exclaimed "NO!" Back up the hill to try again. The best was when Luke would throw him down and he would splash at the bottom and then go scooting right off the end. He would get up and yell "that was a good run!" Definitely worth the walk down the aisle I think ;)

Cora, Meet Cora

We had a fun visitor today! I'll start by filling you in with the story. After we had Cora our neighbor came over and asked us if we knew that there is another Cora Johnson living in Racine. WHAT! How crazy is that, that in a little town of 300 people there is another person with the exact same name?! She then elaborated that the other Cora Johnson is 84 years old. But wait, it gets better. The next time our neighbor saw the other Cora she asked her what her middle name is. You'll never guess....yep...Mae (spelt the same and everything)! So there are two Cora Mae Johnson's living in Racine....one is 84 years old, and the other is 4 months old. We thought this was so cool that my neighbor asked if she could bring Cora over to meet our Cora. Of course I thought it was a great idea, and they stopped over this afternoon. She is the sweetest lady I have ever seen. I was a little worried when they came over because I didn't know if she would have any trouble getting up the st...

Happy Father's Day

Here's Luke and his little helper fixing the dryer. Happy Father's Day to all you Dad's reading! (and yes this is the final post for the day.......I think)

Some things never change....

7.5 Months Today (Just shy of 3 years)

Garden Update

So our garden is actually sprouting up! The kids like to keep an eye on it and keep it watered. Hopefully we will end up getting some veggies out of it, but so far it is looking pertty good (much better than I expected anyway!).

Look Who's Sitting!

Ok, so she's not REALLY sitting, since she kind of has the whole ape pose going on, but she is definitely getting close...and she was balancing all by herself! Cora is growing up WAY too fast. She got to try rice cereal for the first time yesterday. She liked it much better than her brother, but her tongue was kind of working against her when it came to keeping it in her mouth. As soon as it would go in her tongue would push it right back out. After a few min she was starting to get it. She doesn't know how to move it to the back of her mouth so she can swallow it on her own, but if I left the spoon in her mouth she would suck the cereal off the spoon so she could swallow it. But that's ok, she can take her time learning...I'm not sure if I'm ready for the whole baby food era to begin yet! Seriously...where does the time go?!

Family Photos!

We got our family photos back today and I couldn't be happier with them! They were taken by Kathy Wendt and she did a great job, and I would definitely recommend her to anyone needing some photos taken. You can find her at http://www.freshclickphotography.blogspot.com . I posted a couple of my favorites, but you'll be able to find the rest of them over on our shutterfly site later tonight.

The "Ring Bear"

We had a wedding up in Kerkhoven, Mn and Beau was the ring bearer AKA "ring bear" . He did a really good job, and was much more cooperative than I expected! He did really well all day, even without a nap. He smiled and cooperated with most of the pictures (sometimes a cheesy smile, but beggars can't be choosers I guess). He looked so handsome in his little tux. Here he is getting ready He told me they were his prince clothes. By the time we got to the reception he was pretty beat, but he did dance his little heart out to a few songs. He found another little girl his age there and got her to dance with him a little bit. At one point he came over to talk to me and then said "I gotta go mom, I gotta go find my princess". Every night we read Beau a bedtime story and I sing through Twinkle, You Are My Sunshine, and Baby Mine...when we got back to the hotel he made it through a short story. By the time I was halfway through You Are My Sunshine I was hearing little sn...
