Cereal...YUCK!

We tried giving Beau rice cereal for the first time this weekend. It did not go over well. He opened his mouth for the first bite, but as soon as it hit his tongue he gave me a terrible face, spit it out, and did a whole body shiver thing. You would think we were feeding him something off of Fear Factor! I tried a few more bites, but he wasn't interested and spit out any that I was able to get into his mouth. Maybe he doesn't like the texture (I know I wouldn't) ;) Oh well, I guess we will try again in a week or so. Here he is hoping I'm not going to shove the spoon at him anymore. Happy Mommy finally took that bowl away!!!

1st Christmas!

Beau officially has one Christmas under his belt! It was a lot of fun to celebrate Christmas as a family of three for the first time. We celebrated with the whole Johnson side on Saturday, and with Grandma and Grandpa Johnson and Chelsea on Sunday. We spent Christmas Eve at home, and went to church, which was really fun since it was the children's pageant. Beau got to open one present on Christmas Eve, which was his new exersaucer. After that we read The Night Before Christmas, and went to bed. We woke up on Christmas morning to find that Santa came!!! He left Beau a swing, highchair, and red wagon...not to mention the stocking stuffed with goodies! After we opened all our presents we headed out for Grandma and Grandpa Daskam's where we celebrated with Great-Grandma and Grandpa Trachta, Jolene, Megan and Adam. We all got so much good stuff, we must have been VERY good this year!

Holiday Spirit

Ok , I'm FINALLY starting to get excited for Christmas. About time, since it is only 4 days away! So today I am just going to reflect on the top 6 things that put me in the Christmas spirit. 1. Christmas TV specials. Note the DVD set to the left. That was a birthday present from Mom and Dad...LOVE it! 2. Hallmark ornaments. Every year since I have been born my mom has given my sister and I a new Hallmark ornament for our birthdays. It was such a big deal when we were younger to pick out the ornament we wanted...(who am I kidding, I still like doing it now!). I have one from every year, each one in it's original box, marked with my name and the year. It is so much fun to get them out at Christmas and see which ornament we chose each year, not to mention see how the packaging has changed. They all seem to bring back some sort of memory. This year Beau got his first ornament from Grandma, and I am so happy that this tradition is being passed to him too! 3. Baking/Eating holiday t...

Get Organized!!

Ok , I stumbled on this blog today, and cannot tear myself away. It is Aby Garvey's blog and it is all about organizing everyday stuff. Go here to check it out! She also has a website that I am equally enthused about...go here . Hope you like it! On another note I'll share my "Johnson Smile" story of the day with you. I got in the car this morning to go to work and noticed that I need gas. UGH! I hate getting gas, especially in the cold. But there was no way around it, the tank was empty. (Sorry Dad/Luke, I ran it down to empty...again.) Anyway I was pumping the gas and noticed Beau watching me, so I put my face right up to the window and made silly faces at him. He laughed and turned his head to the other side of the car. I backed away, and noticed him watching me again. We repeated this whole ordeal over and over until the tank was full. I smiled, grabbed my receipt and decided maybe getting gas isn't so bad after all. So as you can see, nothing terribly earth ...

Baby Dominos

We had our first Christmas of the season last weekend. The family is getting so big with all of the new additions that we decided to do it in a hotel this year. It was fun to see all of the babies together. They were all born within about a month of each other, so I'm sure next year will be CRAZY with them all mobile and running around! We were all amazed that there were no tears during our little photo shoot...what little troopers!

rock and ROLL

I got some bitter-sweet news when I picked Beau up at daycare yesterday. He rolled over for the first time...back to tummy (surprising since he hates being on his tummy!). At first I was so excited because he has been rolling onto his side and getting stuck for a couple weeks now. However, then the bitter set in...I missed my first "first". So naturally as soon as we got home I layed him down to see if he would do it. No such luck, at least not with Luke and I standing over him watching. But eventually, after we left him alone he rolled up onto his side. Luke and I were completely silent, practically holding our breath, just watching him. Then, YEAH, he rolled onto his tummy. You would have thought he had just scored a winning point with the way we cheered. For the rest of the night as soon as we layed him on his back he was rolling back to his tummy. He made me laugh every time because he had such a bewildered look on his face like, "whoa, what happened!".

First Post!

Well, I decided to join the blogging world. This way family and friends can keep tabs on us, and we can have documentation to look back on and smile. I can't promise to post every day like many of my fellow bloggers, but I will do my best! My life (and Luke's) has been pretty much consumed by our recent addition...Beau. He is now 4 1/2 months old, and is the number one thing that makes us smile! We have been busy getting ready to celebrate Beau's first Christmas. He loves to look at all the lights, and is completely mesmerized by the Christmas tree. It is so fun to look at everything again through his eyes.
